The 14th International Conference of Ombudsmen has been held in Baku.

On June 13, International Scientific Conference "Gobustan Rock Art at the Crossroads of Cultures” dedicated to the 50 th anniversary of the establishment of the Gobustan National Historic- Artistic Reserve, and 10 th anniversary of the inclusion of Gobustan into the UNESCO World Heritage List started in Baku. The conference was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).

The four day workshop held by “Sonmaz Mashal” Cultural Relations Public Union in Baku within the framework of the project titled “Women Create: Creative Conversation on Gender Equity and women successes in Azerbaijan” ended on June 11, 2017.

Addressing the event, Nada Al-Nashif, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences, said that instituted in 1998, the prize is awarded to those who contribute to the development of Arab culture and arts.

At the meeting, they expressed their satisfaction with the successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNESCO and noted the support of this organization in promotion and preservation of cultural heritage and development of educational and scientific reforms in our country. The role of Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the development of relations between Azerbaijan and UNESCO was highly appreciated.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, chairman of the National Commission Elmar Mammadyarov hailed relations between Azerbaijan and UNESCO as fruitful. He praised the role of Azerbaijan`s First Vice-President, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva in developing cooperation between the country and the organization.
