Today is the National Music Day

September 8 - Day of the great Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli's birthday is celebrated as the National Music Day in our country. According to the order of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, a series of events are held every year in different regions of Azerbaijan.
 

The birthday of the prominent composer is also marked by the opening of the International Music Festival dedicated to Uzeyir Hajibeyli.
 

The festival, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, is open every year of this day in September and lasts 10 days. This year's festival will feature 30 different type of events, with the participation of musicians and bands from Russia, USA, Turkey, Italy and Slovakia - New Life brass quartet named after T. Dockhchitser, Dada Gorgud Chamber Orchestra, Murad Kajlayev, Murad Annamamedov, Sergei Roldugin, Pavel Milyukov, Azer Demirov, Farhad Ashumov and others.
