On August 12, 2020, on the occasion of the International Youth Day within the framework of UNESCO, a video conference on "Involving youth for global activities" was held by the Permanent Secretariat of the National Commission with the participation of relevant members of the Commission and youth organizations. During the video conference, discussions were held on youth policy implemented in our country, youth education, promotion of youth in creative fields, projects implemented with the participation of young people. As an outcome of the event, it has been decided to develop an action plan to improve cooperation with UNESCO in the field of youth, and for this purpose a working group has been established.

One of the main activities of the National Commission for UNESCO in the field of youth in 2020 was to promote the activities of UNESCO Clubs. In connection with the declaration of 2020 as the "Year of Volunteers", during the respective year, activities were conducted to increase the number of UNESCO clubs and to expand their activities based on the principle of volunteerism. UNESCO Clubs were established at the Azerbaijan National Conservatory on February 20 and at the Azerbaijan Technical University on June 5, which increased the number of UNESCO Clubs operating in our country to six.

On June 5, 2020, with the initiative of the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO, an online meeting was held to discuss the activities and future projects of UNESCO Clubs operating in our country.

On September 21, 2020, a drawing competition on the theme of "Shaping Peace Together” was organized by the Azerbaijan UNESCO Clubs and the Ministry of Education with the support of the Permanent Secretariat of the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO.
