Seymur Fataliyev - Ambassador at-large, Secretary-General of the National Commission for UNESCO.
S. Seymur Fataliyev was born on 19 July 1973.
Dr. Fataliyev studied French at the Azerbaijan University of Languages between 1990 and 1995 and law at the Baku State University between 1997 and 2001.
He began his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 1995.
Dr. Fataliyev worked at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in France during 1999-2005 and afterwards, at the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan to UNESCO during 2006 and 2009.
Between 2009 and 2012, he was appointed as the Deputy Head of the State Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
He served as the Deputy Head of the Department on Humanitarian Policy Issues of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan during 2012 and 2017.
Between 2017 and 2018, Dr. Fataliyev was Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was worked as the Head of the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA) during 2018 and 2021.
In August 2021, he was appointed as Ambassador at-large, Secretary General of the National Commission for UNESCO.
By the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 25, 2014, No. 580, S.Fataliyev was awarded with the medal "For Distinction in Civil Service".
By another decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 17, 2015, S.Fataliyev was awarded with rank of state counselor of the 2nd degree.
He obtained a PhD in philology in 2015.
