The 900th anniversary of the birth of Ajami Nakhchivani will be celebrated at the headquarters of UNESCO

In 2024-2025, within the framework of UNESCO's jubilee program, the 900th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding personality of Azerbaijan, the architect Acami ibn Abubakr Nakhchivani, and the 950th anniversary of the "Divani-luğati-turk" will be celebrated at the headquarters of the organization.

AZƏRTAC reports that both events have been included in the jubilee list with the relevant decision at the 42nd session of UNESCO's General Conference.

Since 1956, UNESCO has been commemorating the anniversaries of notable personalities and significant events. So far, anniversaries of figures such as Muhammad Fuzuli, Nasir al-Din al-Tusi, Mahsati Ganjavi, Seyid Yahya Bakuvi, Yusif Mammadaliyev, Mir Jalal Pashayev, Musa Aliyev, Sattar Bahlulzade, as well as the epic "Book of Dede Korkut," operas like "Leyli and Majnun," and " Arşın mal alan" have been internationally recognized by UNESCO.

Events held within the jubilee program create opportunities for UNESCO to recognize the rich cultural heritage of our country and disseminate information about Azerbaijan's notable personalities and significant events to a wide audience.
