Director of State Agency for Science and Higher Education made a speech at the UNESCO conference
 

Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, Ulkar Sattarova, spoke at the UNESCO World Conference on Culture and Arts Education held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Agency informed AZERTAC that Ulkar Sattarova provided information to conference participants about reforms in higher education, state programs, and achievements in Azerbaijan aimed at developing human capital during her speech.

She provided information about the "SABAH" groups established to train highly qualified personnel in the country, the opening of branches of foreign universities, and international dual degree programs implemented in collaboration with prestigious universities worldwide under the "State Program for Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023."

In addition, Ulkar Sattarova talked about the conditions created for young researchers to receive doctoral studies in higher education institutions ranked in the top 500 in the global rankings of universities within the said State Program, and their contribution to increasing the international competitiveness of local higher education institutions under the tripartite contractual obligation.

Ulkar Sattarova informed participants about the importance of the "State Program for Young People to Study at Influential Foreign Universities for 2022-2026," not only for the development of human capital in Azerbaijan but also for education at the most prestigious foreign higher education institutions. She highlighted achievements such as nearly 50 Azerbaijani youth being admitted to the world's top 10 universities during the current academic year, emphasizing the significance of this program.

In addition to other fields of specialization, Ulkar Sattarova discussed projects aimed at expanding opportunities in cultural and arts education alongside higher education. She highlighted the importance of the "State Program for the Development of Inclusive Education for Persons with Disabilities in the Republic of Azerbaijan during 2018-2024," which ensures equal educational rights for children with disabilities. She also mentioned projects implemented in collaboration with UNICEF, such as the expansion of the network of inclusive classrooms in general education institutions.

Ulkar Sattarova highlighted the positive impact of projects like "Digital Skills" initiated in Azerbaijan since 2017 and "STEAM Azerbaijan" launched in 2019, which have played a significant role in the development of cultural and arts education alongside the advancement of information technologies.

Simuzar Feyzullayeva, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Education and Science, along with Elnur Aliyev, Advisor to the Minister of Education and Science and Acting Director of the Azerbaijan Republic Institute of Education, participated in the conference.
