47 monuments of Turkic peoples have been included in UNESCO's list of cultural heritage.

AZERTAC news reports that the President of the International Turkic Academy, academician Shahin Mustafayev, spoke at an international conference hosted by ADA University on the topic of "Studying and Preserving the Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Turkic World from UNESCO's Perspective." He mentioned that there are more monuments of Turkic cultural heritage that will be added to the list. He emphasized that the existence of each nation is measured by its tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Losing these cultural identities means risking gradual extinction.

The academician drew attention to the fact that there is an ancient joint culture of the Turkic peoples. Turkic cultures are widely spread across Eurasia, including in several places in Europe. While the cultures of Turkic peoples across this vast geography may vary from a geographical perspective, they share similarities in cultural heritage.

"Today, safeguarding our rich cultural heritage and promoting it worldwide should be one of the primary priorities," emphasized academician Shahin Mustafayev, touching upon the importance of continuity and expansion of relations with UNESCO in this regard. He underscored the need for relevant institutions to engage in more substantial collaboration and expand activities to promote our shared cultural heritage globally.

The first session of the international conference dedicated to "National Strategies and Approaches for the Preservation of Turkic World Cultural Heritage" was moderated by academician Shahin Mustafayev, President of the International Turkic Academy.

It should be noted that the international conference was organized jointly by the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO, the International Turkic Academy, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, the National Commission of Turkey for UNESCO, along with the Institute of Development and Diplomacy of ADA University.
