"The art of balaban craftsmanship and performance" has been included in UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity

During the 18th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO in Kasane, Botswana, Azerbaijan and Turkey jointly submitted the nomination file titled "The art of balaban craftsmanship and performance." This nomination was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by unanimous decision of the Committee.

AZƏRTAC reports, based on Azerbaijan's Permanent Delegation to UNESCO, that during the acceptance of the nomination "The art of balaban craftsmanship and performance," our country's Permanent Representative to UNESCO, Elman Abdullayev, expressed gratitude to the Committee members for the unanimous acceptance of the file.

The speaker, stating that the art of balaban craftsmanship and performance has been a part of Azerbaijan's intangible cultural heritage for centuries, discussed efforts in our country towards the safeguarding and transmission of this heritage to future generations.
