6th meeting of National Commission and Committees for UNESCO of TURKSOY Member States was held in Istanbul

On July 9, 2016, 6th meeting of National Commission and Committees for UNESCO of TURKSOY Member States was held in Istanbul, Turkey. Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey Prof. Nabi Avcı, Turksoy Secretary General Dussen Kasseinov, representatives of permanent delegations to UNESCO, as well as National Commissions for UNESCO of TURKSOY Member States, and other organizations participated in the event.
In her speech to the participants of the meeting, Counselor of the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO Ms Gulnara Aghalarova mentioned that lavash was presented to UNESCO as a multinational nomination following discussions at the 5th meeting of National Commissions and Committees for UNESCO of TURKSOY Member States.
She also spoke about the importance of widening cooperation among turkic-speaking countries in the framework of international organizations.
Bilateral meetings were held with Secretaries-General of National Commissions for UNESCO of Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyz Republic on the sidelines of the event.
