The first Steering Committee meeting of the Framework Agreement signed between the Republic of Azerbaijan and UNESCO was held at UNESCO

The first Steering Committee meeting of the Framework Agreement for cooperation in the areas of Education, the sciences, culture and communication signed between the Republic of Azerbaijan and UNESCO was held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris on March 11 2016. 

The representatives from the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan to UNESCO, National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO and The Ministry of the Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan have taken part in the meeting alongside with the UNESCO officials.

Deputy Head of the Department for Strategic Planning of UNESCO, Jean-Yves Le Saux in his speech expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijan for the continued support to UNESCO and expressed his hope that this cooperation will only improve in the future.

He also emphasized that financial support made by Azerbaijan was very significant for UNESCO when it had financial problems.

Later, relevant units of UNESCO presented reports about the projects that are financed by Azerbaijan through the Trust Fund.
