An event dedicated to the "Year of Solidarity in the Name of Green World" was held in Yekaterinburg

In Yekaterinburg, an event dedicated to the "Year of Solidarity in the Name of Green World," organized by Azerbaijan's Consulate General with the support of Azerbaijan's National Commission for UNESCO, was held in accordance with the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev declaring the "Year of Solidarity in the Name of Green World" in Azerbaijan.

AZERTAC reports that during the event, live performances were delivered by members of the "Karabakh" mugham ensemble under the direction of People's Artist Mansum Ibrahimov. The performances included People's Artist Elchin Hashimov, Honored Artists Elnur Ahmadov and Kamran Karimov, as well as the winner of the mugham competition Ayshan Mehdiyeva. They showcased various stage acts reflecting diverse holiday traditions and offered traditional holiday treats.

The venue where the holiday event took place was adorned with festive attributes reflecting the Novruz traditions - samani, holiday decorations, as well as banners celebrating the "Year of Solidarity in the Name of Green World", Novruz holiday, and etc. Guests were presented with specially prepared Novruz symbols as gifts by the Consulate General.

Among the invitees to the event were state and government representatives, deputies of the Russian State Duma, legislative assemblies of Sverdlovsk and Tyumen regions, representatives of the diplomatic corps, city mayoral leadership, university rectors, leaders of the local community, heads of the Azerbaijan diaspora active in the Ural Federal District, and Azerbaijani students.

Consul General Shohrat Mustafayev delivered a speech at the event, highlighting the importance of President Ilham Aliyev's decree on the "Year of Solidarity in the Name of Green World". He emphasized its significance in protecting the environment, mitigating climate change, and increasing awareness on disaster prevention.

Later, speeches were delivered by several officials including Alexander Kharlov, the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs representation in Yekaterinburg; Vasili Kozlov, deputy to the Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuyvashev; Tatyana Merzlyakova, the Human Rights Ombudsman for Sverdlovsk Region; Sergey Chepikov, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation; Dmitry Noyenko, deputy to the Mayor of Yekaterinburg Aleksey Orlov; Alexander Levin, President of the Public Chamber of Sverdlovsk Region; President of the Azerbaijan-Ural Public National Cultural Organization Shahin Shikhlynsky and others. They discussed the significance of the day, the expanding lines of development in Russia-Azerbaijan relations, and extended congratulations to the participants and our people on this notable occasion.
