“Dede Qorqud heritage” has been inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage

 

"Heritage of Dede Qorqud/ Korkyt Ata/ Dede Korkut, epic culture, folk tales and music" has been inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage as a multinational nomination jointly submitted by Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kazakhstan by the decision of the 13th Session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage held in Port Louis, the capital of the Mauritius on 28 November.

The multinational culture example of "Heritage of Dede Qorqud/ Korkyt Ata/ Dede Korkut, epic culture, folk tales and music" represents unity, equality and diversity in Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kazakhstan, as well as promotes the family values our people, the role of women in society, hospitality and justice.

Once again, Armenia’s provocative attempts against Azerbaijan’s part of the nomination of "Heritage of Dede Qorqud/ Korkyt Ata/ Dede Korkut, epic culture, folk tales and music" were prevented.

With the support of the First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, who has an exceptional services in the development of cooperation with UNESCO and the promotion of our cultural heritage worldwide, "Heritage of Dede Qorqud/ Korkyt Ata/ Dede Korkut, epic culture, folk tales and music", as well as the other intangible cultural heritages of Azerbaijan have been inscribed on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
