Event will be held dedicated to the 25 th anniversary of the ICOM Azerbaijan National Committee

On December 15, an event will be held on the occasion of the 25 th anniversary of the ICOM Azerbaijan National Committee at the “Icherisheher” State Historical-Architectural Reserve. All the members of the National Committee will take part in the event.
As part of the event, the annual plenary session of the ICOM Azerbaijan National Committee will be organized. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan, National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO, diplomats and government officials are expected to attend the conference.
Also, the updated website of ICOM Azerbaijan National Committee will be presented during the event. The conference will discuss the national committee’s updated charter, issues related to the establishment of the working group for the participation of the Azerbaijani delegation in the General Conference of ICOM in 2019, in Kyoto (Japan), and the grants for the winners of ICOM Azerbaijan National Committee in “The Best Museum Project of the Year” and “Most Active Member of Committee” nominations.
It should be noted that the main aims of the ICOM National Committee are to strengthen cooperation in museum work and cultural field, as well as to study the progressive experience of foreign museums.
One of the priorities of ICOM National Committee is the safeguard cultural values in armed conflicts and their protection from illegal trade, protection of cultural heritage, and the development of museum management in the country.
